Overview

Airports are huge transportation hubs - with millions of passengers arriving and departing from our UK airports every year. But, what can be done to keep our airports and passengers as safe as possible?

Join this Sprint with the Civil Aviation Authority, and use your creative thinking and great ideas to tackle a key security challenge that affects every airport in the world. In the Sprint, you’ll investigate potential security issues around boarding gates, and, with the help of expert professionals, you’ll have the knowledge you’ll need to make some innovative suggestions on how to improve them.

In this Sprint, you’ll be supported by Kirsty Richardson, Head of Aviation Security Compliance at the Civil Aviation Authority. Kirsty will take you through some of the key aspects of airport security, and provide an insight into some of the unique challenges that the sector faces. She will guide you through the task at hand, and showcase how organisations like the Civil Aviation Authority are working to tackle this. Plus, you’ll get the chance to hear more about Kirsty’s journey in the sector and the different career pathways available!
